Two cities in one trip: Dubai and Abu Dhabi

Dubai and Abu Dhabi sit about 90 minutes apart, so it is easy to see both in one trip. The Emirates Grand Tour does exactly that. You get the full Dubai experience over four days, then a full day in Abu Dhabi. Many groups do not realise how different the two cities feel, and seeing both is what makes this five-day journey special.

Is Abu Dhabi worth visiting from Dubai?

Yes, Abu Dhabi is well worth the day trip from Dubai. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque alone is reason enough to go, with its white marble halls and the world's largest hand-knotted carpet. You also see the Corniche, Qasr Al Watan and the Emirates Palace. We handle the drive both ways, so your group just relaxes and takes it in.

How far is Abu Dhabi from Dubai?

Abu Dhabi is around 140 kilometres from Dubai, which is about 90 minutes by road. We make the journey in a private, air-conditioned vehicle, so it is comfortable and easy. The drive is a chance to rest between the two cities. Everything, including the transfer and the guide, is part of the one package price.

What do you wear to the Grand Mosque?

Visitors to the Grand Mosque should dress modestly, with arms and legs covered. Women cover their hair with a scarf, which you can bring or borrow at the site. We brief your group on this before the day, so no one is caught out. It is a working place of worship, and dressing right is part of the respect that makes the visit special.

When is the best time for this trip?

The best months are November to March, when both cities have warm days and cool evenings. This is the most comfortable season for the outdoor parts, like the desert and the Corniche. In summer we plan the outdoor visits for mornings and evenings to avoid the peak heat. We run the Emirates Grand Tour all year and shape it around your dates.

Why five days is the complete Dubai trip

Five days gives your group the complete picture without feeling rushed. You get the city, the Burj Khalifa, the desert, the Marina by yacht, a dhow cruise and a full day in Abu Dhabi. It is all one price, with hotels, transfers and a guide included. For groups who want to see the real United Arab Emirates, not just one corner of it, this is the journey we point them to.
